About the role
The CMM Supervisor is responsible for leading and performing advanced dimensional inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment, as well supervising a team of CMM Quality Inspectors in a precision machining environment. This role ensures full compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily CMM (Zeiss CMM with Calypso software) activities including receiving, in-process, first article, and final. Ensuring priorities, workload distribution, and on-time inspection support to production
- Perform and lead inspection activities (receiving, in-process, first article, and final) using CMM and conventional tools, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.
- Oversee and complete the development, validation, and optimization of CMM programs, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across all inspected parts.
- Provide technical guidance on measurement methods and best practices to production teams.
- Identify, document, and communicate non-conformities; issue and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Corrective Action Requests (CARs); and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Complete and review quality documentation, including First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, Certificates of Conformance (CoC), and ERP entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance prior to product release.
- Collaborate with Quality, Programming, and Production teams to resolve issues, improve inspection processes,
- Support audits and mentor junior inspectors.
##Qualification Requirements
- Diploma or certification in Quality Control, Manufacturing, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in quality inspection, with strong hands-on CMM experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred).
- Strong expertise in CMM programming and operation (Zeiss CMM with Calypso software is an asset).
- Prior experience supervising or leading inspectors or a quality team is an asset
- Solid understanding of GD&T and mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer-specific requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JobBoss) and MS Office.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in French and English
