Position Description
Conduct and coordinate a variety of construction risk management tasks on a mix of public and private projects, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams under the mentorship of experienced Professional Engineers. Apply and expand your technical knowledge in vibration, noise, and displacement monitoring for construction/blasting projects as you develop toward professional licensure in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment.
Position Responsibilities
- Coordinating and performing field duties like pre-construction surveying and various construction monitoring (i.e. vibration, noise, tilt, settlement, etc.)
- Installing and maintaining a variety of construction/blasting monitoring equipment including but not limited to LoadSensing, Geokon, RST, and RocTest geotechnical instrumentation, as well as Instantel, Sigicom, Svantek vibration monitors.
- Drafting construction and blast monitoring plans and summary data reports.
- Support technical and project management activities through design development, construction review, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Prepare, verify, and finalize technical reports, calculations, and other project deliverables with attention to accuracy and quality standards.
- Contribute to proposal preparation and actively participate in engagement with clients, regulatory agencies, the public, and suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with Professional Engineers to apply engineering principles, develop practical solutions, and advance toward professional licensure.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills in construction risk monitoring supported by a degree in Civil, Geological, Mechanical, or other Engineering from an accredited Canadian university or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Field experience is considered an asset, along with a solid understanding of relevant codes, standards, regulations, and engineering software and geotechnical instrumentation.
This position is classified as full time. Rate of pay will be commensurate with related experience and qualifications ($62,400.00 per year +).
