As a Human Resources (HR) Consultant, Organizational Development, you will serve as a strategic advisor and expert consultant to executive leadership, senior management and teams across the organization. You will support the execution of organizational strategy and business objectives by providing specialized consultation on complex challenges and initiatives such as structural change, leadership, culture and business transformation. Primary duties include:
- Work with leadership teams and build capacity through tailored assessments, facilitations and development sessions.
- Design and facilitate team effectiveness sessions, conduct assessments and work with teams to address challenging dynamics.
- Foster resilient, collaborative, high-performing leaders and teams and promote an agile culture that is aligned to organizational goals.
- Partner with leaders to drive organizational change and guide teams to deliver solutions on defined timelines.
- Coach senior executives and leadership on developing their change vision and establishing and activating change coalitions, assessing organizational and business readiness, escalating and directly managing risks, and developing strategies and plans to drive business value and change adoption.
- Execute tactical change management by guiding and directing the work of others, developing detailed plans and timelines.
- Partner with leadership to align strategy, structure, processes, and people.
- Facilitating strategic planning sessions, organizational design workshops, and culture alignment reviews.
- Apply expertise in behavioral sciences to support organizational effectiveness through coaching, change management, team development, and organizational design.
Qualifications
- A degree in Psychology, Business Administration, Business Management, Sociology or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience in organizational development and change leadership.
- Formalized training in organizational change management, leadership coaching and development and strategic facilitation is preferred.
- Experience with session design and facilitation, project management, and team effectiveness, including the application of psychometric tools and personality assessments.
- Advanced listening and communication skills to assess complex organizational needs and deliver tailored, impactful solutions.
- Success in this position requires a proven track record of quickly establishing credibility and trust with clients; a focus on outcomes with a consultative approach using a growth mindset; and a project management skill set or a willingness to learn.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. Such arrangements are based on the operational requirements of the position and employee suitability and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Position Type: 1 Temporary (up to 18 months)
Compensation: Pay Grade 12 $48.54 - 64.88 per hour
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Location: 800 Macleod Trail SE
