About the Role
The Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the collaborative planning, development and execution of marketing and communications strategies to ensure maximum student recruitment and engagement in Career Services programs, events and activities. This position will have a strong understanding of department services, targets, outcomes, event attendance options, stakeholder satisfaction behaviors, and use an evidence-based approach to ensure maximum engagement from our students. The R & E Coordinator will utilize multiple platforms such as social media, website, on-campus, and peer-to-peer to inform and engage stakeholders. This is a highly collaborative role that will work with leads, managers, director, staff, student peer program and partners across the MRU community on the strategies, execution and best practices of marketing and communications initiatives.
This position is a replacement term role working 35 hours per week, and expected to end December 15, 2027.
Responsibilities
- Support department services, programs and initiatives through marketing and communication strategies to meet recruitment and engagement targets.
- Responsible for departmental targets for student recruitment and attendance for workshops, educational and networking events, enrolment in funded projects, volunteer initiatives, and partner events.
- Meet partner engagement targets and annual revenue generation KPl's through innovative industry partner outreach in alignment with departments Relationship Marketing Framework.
- Provide expertise on all product and service design to maximize successful launch and marketing
- Responsible for the development of compelling content in compliance with MRU brand standards, including objectives, audience analysis, core message creation, execution of video and photo productions, content strategy and creative approach.
- Utilize storytelling, through content writing, copywriting, and editing to develop a wide variety of content for internal, external, and student groups
- Assume responsibility of departmental website, social media accounts, blogs, podcasts and all other marketing and communication channels and tools.
- Act as a departmental communication trainer.
- Support stakeholder engagement efforts through appealing and informative storytelling and creation of effective marketing and communication tools and assets.
- Continuously calibrate and improve approaches and tactics to maximize student recruitment and partner engagement with MRU career related initiatives, projects, and events.
- Develop and strengthen social media presence based on market trends research, post content on each platform, and audience engagement.
- Monitor SEO and user engagement and maintain responsibility for continuous content optimization to meet recruitment and engagement targets.
- Grow Career Services network by connecting with relevant experts and industry professionals, engage current students and alumni with relevant stories and content
- Provide evidence-based and best practice recommendations for student recruitment and partner engagement success.
- Coordinate measurement of interaction processes with students and partners, planned marketing communications; product and service messages; unplanned messages
- Utilize various models for data collection (quantitative and qualitative) to monitor recruitment, engagement, user experience satisfaction and learning outcomes achieved, all to drive continuous improvement and a positive user experience.
- Contribute as a crucial member to the department's Partner Engagement Calendar and MOTAY (Map of the Year) inclusive of outcomes measurement deadlines and targets for both.
- Evaluate and provide recommendation to the leadership on the quality of value generating customer interaction processes.
- Monitor recruitment data in real-time and incorporates strategies if targets are not on track.
- Support staff and student peers through training and assistance for marketing and communication platforms and software
- Research and maintain currency on relevant technology to help reach KPl's, targets and support business objectives.
- In collaboration with various department and MRU partners, supports department services, programs and initiatives through marketing and communication strategies to meet recruitment and engagement targets.
- Take on other duties as required to support peak and low times of the academic year.
Qualifications

Three or four year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

3 - 5 years of related work experience, including:
- Experience with graphics and layout
- Experience with writing surveys that elicit feedback on the user experience

Strong marketing and communications knowledge
-
Professional copywriting and editing skills with the ability to create content for various purposes and for a variety of mediums
-
Creative, with an eye for detail and composition
-
Critical thinking skills to assess how and when to engage with our audience
-
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
-
High proficiency with Google applications and Microsoft suite.
