Job Description Summary
STEMCELL is looking for a highly motivated, early-career scientist interested in an alternative to the traditional academic career path. Join our Contract Assay Services team and build a stable and rewarding scientific career in a fast-paced, dynamic, and creative environment.
The Scientist within the Contract Assay Services team is responsible for ensuring that client services are designed and executed appropriately to meet external project sponsors’ requirements. The position primarily focuses on developing new protocols to support customized studies driven by industrial customers at all levels including preparing and executing contract-based studies such as data analysis and preparation of client reports, engaging potential customers through scientific discussion, and collaborating with RND on new protocol and/or assay development.
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Use relevant fields of expertise to evaluate client's projects using STEMCELL or other relevant products to evaluate and provide new services
- Independently function as the Study Director to lead client communication and discussions regarding study design, execution, interpretation, analysis, documentation and reporting of results
- Collaborate with Scientific Experts/Product Scientists or others within STEMCELL during protocol development for new products and associated applications to optimize protocol design and appropriately address study objectives
- Responsible for the generation and review of proposals, final Statement of Work (SOW) and quotes for client studies OR in collaboration with Senior team members create new NPP submissions, develop assay development plans and timelines, and outline required resources (reagents, instrumentation, etc)
- Present results of projects at CAS meetings, internal cross-functional meetings and external meetings or conferences, as required
Knowledge and Qualifications
- PhD with 0-4 years or MSc with 5-10 years of experience in Cell Biology, Stem Cell Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biological Chemistry, Pharmacology, or a related field
- An accomplished independent scientist with industrial and complex assay development experience
- Experience with advanced human cell culture with primary, human iPS or ES cells, and/or 3D organoid systems is required
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
- Highly collaborative yet self-motivated and able to work independently

The annual base salary for this job ranges from:
$81,700.00 - $122,500.00
STEMCELL determines an individual’s pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health benefits, retirement savings, and more.
