We have 2 casual PSWs vacancy position available in the Newmarket area working in facilities.

Job Benefits:

  • Pay $21.00 per hour

The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide full scope of services to patients and defined needs, and/or predictable outcomes. Evaluate information from patients and other sources, and work with complex needs.
  • Report and document unsafe conditions and behavioral, physical, and or cognitive changes to an appropriate supervisor.
  • Assist with medication and medication reminders.
  • Preparing meals for client and completing light housekeeping; such as laundry, vacuuming and mopping floors
  • Respond to emergencies and urgent care
  • Monitor patients' healthcare status
  • Maintain a safe, secure and clean environment
  • Liaise with other clinical and correctional professionals
  • Practice in accordance with the security requirements of the facility
  • Evaluate responses to treatment and modify the treatment plan to achieve established goals.
  • Monitoring care plan and adding detailed documentation with any changes and updates
  • Responding to all emergency situations
  • All other duties, as assigned

Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • PSW certification from an accredited college/learning centre OR additional NACC certification is preferred*
  • Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license
  • Valid CPR/First Aid certification
  • Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
  • Satisfactory professional references
  • Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
