Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Diagnostic Imaging, the successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that the patient's Cardiac Diagnostic needs are met in a caring and professional manner and in accordance with the legislation, regulation, bylaws, policies and procedures governing the Hospital and the Cardiac Diagnostics and through interaction with the ECG Technician and other health care professionals.

Education Requirements

  • Graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist Diploma Program
  • Registered in good standing with The Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) and/or The Ontario Society of Cardiology Technologists (OSCT)
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional continuing education and organizational development.
  • Current CPR Certification

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year current experience in an ECG Laboratory
  • 3 years in a hospital setting experience preferred
  • Holter application and scanning experience

Mandatory Competencies

  • Demonstrated general computer skills
  • Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, skills, and judgment appropriate for the position.
  • Ability to accept assigned or delegated functions effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to set priorities and organize work efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively
  • Ability to lift using appropriate lifting techniques and bend, push and pull using good body mechanics.
  • Safety (patient, worker & workplace) is a BCHS Corporate Priority. The successful applicant will demonstrate good stewardship in the identification, reporting and mitigation of unsafe acts or conditions.
