We have an opportunity available for a permanent, full-time Art Director at our Welland Avenue location. The successful candidate will join our team of Marketing professionals.

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Art Director with a passion for books and a proven track record in publishing or children’s publishing. In this leadership role, you will oversee the creative direction and design vision for our titles, guiding a team of designers to produce visually compelling and market-ready books.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design strategy and visual identity for Kidsbooks’ publications.
- Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of designers.
- Collaborate with editorial, production, and marketing teams to ensure design excellence.
- Oversee budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for design projects.
- Review and approve final artwork for print and digital formats.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 10–15 years’ experience in design, with significant publishing experience.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional portfolio showcasing book design work.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and industry-standard tools.
Nice-to-Have
- Children’s publishing experience.
- Experience with hybrid teams.
Additional Details
While our preference is for an on-site presence at our Welland Ave location, a hybrid schedule (e.g., 2–3 days on-site, rotating) can be considered. Candidates from the Greater Toronto Area are encouraged to apply.
Incentive Program
This position participates in Book Depot Inc.’s incentive program at the 15% level.
