working 75 hours bi-weekly.** Temporary Assignments would also be considered. This opportunity… The Regional Economic Development Branch facilitates regional economic activities. We offer funding and advisory services to clients including First Nations governments and organizations, communities, businesses, non-profits and a variety of other groups. We support projects, capacity development, and initiatives that provide long-term economic and social benefits for Yukon communities.
The Community Development Advisor (CDA) is responsible for processing, analyzing, assessing, and making project recommendations ensuring that projects are effectively implemented, managed, monitored, and completed. The CDA provides advice and assistance that reinforces networks and social infrastructure, increases public engagement, fosters empowerment and self-sufficiency, and builds community and organizational capacity.

Essential Qualifications Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications. Please note selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume. When you list your work experience, include the month and year in which you started and ended each job.
- Post-secondary education in business administration, economic development, community economic development or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing, evaluating, and making recommendations on client applications against program criteria and managing funding agreements with a variety of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in community development approaches to project development and management, and working with a broad range of clients, preferably in a northern or rural context.
- Demonstrated experience performing financial information analysis and report preparation.
- Experience in fund administration in a government setting would be an asset.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
Desired Knowledge, Skills And Suitability Candidates should have and may be assessed on:
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships and provide quality customer service.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail .
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including diplomacy.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, situations and demands by establishing critical timelines and prioritizing actions.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience using a variety of computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, is needed.
Additional Information This position is required to make regular trips to Yukon rural communities.
