About the role
Job Purpose The Plant Manager will lead, drive, and sustain the cultural and technical changes necessary to make Dana a world-class Lean manufacturer. These changes will be required at multiple levels within the organization and will necessitate different approaches and delivery methods while still retaining consistency.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the overall manufacturing operations within the business, including procurement, supply chain management, manufacturing, assembly, and distribution of all products.
- Serve as the leader and catalyst for teaching, training, and implementing Lean Enterprise principles, tools, and techniques within the manufacturing organization.
- Significantly reduce direct costs, improve quality, and shrink inventory.
- Serve as the leader of the senior management team at their respective location.
- Own and lead all manufacturing and distribution operations.
- Responsible for leading the continuous improvement efforts. Establish credibility with executive leadership to influence basic strategy and the effective inclusion of long-range improvements to franchise plans.
- Create strategic plans to support the long-term profitable growth of the business.
- Put metrics in place that have a positive impact on the organization, that drive improvements and accountability.
- Motivate and supervise the plant workforce.
- Manage plant assets associated with improving cost, quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Deploy plant processes and systems to ensure world-class manufacturing processes are achieved.
- Communicate best practices and benchmarks
- Communicate well at all levels within the organization.
Education And Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with preference in engineering or related technical discipline
- 10 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong financial acumen and ability to drive metrics
- Detail oriented and very hands on in a manufacturing environment
