- 0.30 FTE Grades K-7 Fine Arts eCademy & Music Teacher
- Contact Days: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday PM
- Please note this temporary position will end on June 30, 2026 or upon return of the incumbent.
The Fine Arts eCademy (FAe) is a blended learning, fine-arts focused elementary program with students from Kindergarten - Grade 7. The program was locally developed on the idea of "what school could look like?" The program is unique within its delivery of curriculum through the fine arts lens, the focus on social emotional needs of students with the Circle of Courage from Martin Brokenleg, and the shared learning that occurs between the students, teachers and families. Teachers at FAe support students in multi-grade classes, with diverse needs and abilities. During the home learning days, our educators support families across multiple platforms, spend time planning and collaborate with their grade group colleagues and the greater FAe community.
- Demonstrated experience in creating engaging lessons and learning activities that promote exploration, creativity, and skill development in music, visual arts and other fine arts disciplines
- Experience and background knowledge in performing arts.
- Experience and background in planning and presenting ways for learners to showcase their learning (e.g. theatre and/or music productions)
- Experience in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and encouraged to express themselves creatively.
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to working collaboratively as part of a teacher team advancing methods in curriculum integration, project-based learning and personalization (K-7)
- Skill and experience coordinating and integrating community-based, fine arts programs within the instructional platform of multigrade classrooms (K-7)
- Advanced instruction skills teaching with e-portfolios (Seesaw), blogs (Seesaw), websites and supporting Assessment for Learning (AFL) practices
- Skill and experience coordinating and integrating community-based programs
