About the Role

The Workforce Analyst supports the Institute’s efforts to advance social procurement, inclusive employment, and changemaking across campus and community. This role involves tracking and analyzing procurement opportunities across government and post-secondary institutions, coordinating bids with community partners, and engaging employers and civil servants in advocacy for social value in purchasing. The position also contributes to research and publications through interviews, literature reviews, and knowledge-sharing activities, while fostering connections with faculty and students to expand experiential learning and community-engaged research.

This position is a full-time conditionally funded term position working 35 hours per week ending November 30, 2026. There is a possibility for this position to be renewed based on future funding.

Responsibilities

Social Procurement Analysis

  • Track and analyze procurement postings across all three levels of government, as well as post-secondaries in Calgary, that align with community partner priorities
  • Coordinate bids across participating community partners that align with job readiness for individuals facing barriers to employment
  • Liaise with employment facilitators from participating community partners to best understand labour market trends
  • Present and report back on findings
  • Engage employers, civil servants, non-profits and foundation staff on opportunities to participate in continued advocacy for social procurement
  • Serve as a representative of the Institute at events and meetings when needed

Research Assistance

  • Support research and publications related to the Institute’s initiatives including interviews, focus groups, secondary research and literature reviews
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing through presentations, press releases, and attendance at events
  • Coordinate interviews and engagement

Campus Engagement and Event Coordination

  • Working within a post-secondary context provides unique opportunities to engage faculty and students through research, course delivery and internships related to changemaking and community-engaged research

  • Participate or organize events that increase awareness for faculty to engage across the Institute’s changemaking activities

  • Identify opportunities to engage faculty and students through experiential learning, project monitoring, and related research opportunities

  • Coordinate support required based on identified opportunities

  • Assist with event planning, coordination, promotion and attend events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Policy Studies

  • 2 - 3 years of experience

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated research experience

  • Strong written and verbal (includes hosting and public speaking) communication skills are essential for success in this role

  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, event coordination, and problem solving skills

  • Proficiency in G-Suite (Gmail, Google Drive, etc.) and Canva

  • Ability to be agile to meet project needs as they evolve and willingness to work in uncertainty

  • Strong time management and project coordination skills

  • Knowledge and experience working in public policy or the non profit sector will be considered an asset

  • Knowledge and practice in equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism and reconciliation will be considered an asset

  • Comfortable with sharing creative thoughts and ideas to enhance project goals

Salary: $59,386.60 - $75,147.80
