About the role

Seeking a skilled and dependable Handyman / Skilled Laborer to perform a wide variety of residential repair, maintenance, warranty, and deficiency work as well as new construction. This position is ideal for an individual with broad construction knowledge who enjoys diagnosing problems, completing high-quality repairs, and providing excellent customer service. The successful candidate will have experience in multiple aspects of construction, including basic carpentry, drywall repair, painting, trim, doors and hardware, flooring, caulking, and minor plumbing and electrical repairs. The ability to troubleshoot, prioritize tasks, work independently, and maintain a professional appearance in occupied homes is essential. A recognized trade certification (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.) is considered an asset but is not required. We are looking for a well-rounded individual with strong practical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Experience with new home warranty service, deficiency repairs, renovations, or general maintenance is highly desirable. A valid driver's license is an assset but not vital. NOTE; Job is Edmonton based, but abilbity to travel in central and Northern Alberta an asset (per diem and mileage covered)

Qualifications

Strong general construction and carpentry skills (e.g., framing assistance, trim work, basic repairs). Experience with tools and equipment commonly used in residential construction and renovation. Ability to perform minor drywall, painting, caulking, and finishing tasks to a high standard. Knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical support tasks (e.g., fixture installation, minor adjustments). Commitment to safety practices, including proper use of PPE and adherence to site safety protocols. Reliable work ethic, punctuality, and ability to follow instructions and work independently or with a team. Physical ability to lift materials, work on ladders, and perform manual labor throughout the day. Previous experience in residential construction or custom home building is an asset. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from Beaumont, AB job sites. Strong communication skills and a professional, respectful approach to clients, trades, and colleagues.
