Position Overview: The Azure Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on infrastructure stability, security, and operational efficiency, including patching, remediation, and system health across cloud-hosted resources. The Azure Administrator will support core Azure services, ensure compliance with security standards, and collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to maintain a reliable and secure cloud environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure including virtual machines, networking components, and storage services.
- Perform regular patching and remediation activities across Azure-based infrastructure to ensure systems remain secure and compliant.
- Monitor cloud resources to ensure availability, performance, and reliability of Azure-hosted workloads.
- Manage Azure Virtual Machines, virtual networks, network security groups, and storage accounts.
- Identify and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities, configuration issues, and security risks within the Azure environment.
- Support operating system patching and updates for cloud-hosted Windows and Linux servers.
- Assist with capacity planning, resource optimization, and cost management within the Azure environment.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues across compute, networking, and storage layers in Azure.
- Maintain documentation for Azure infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Work with security and compliance teams to ensure Azure resources align with organizational policies and best practices.
- Support backup, recovery, and business continuity processes for Azure-hosted systems.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams to support infrastructure-related projects and cloud migrations when required. Skills & Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of experience administering Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
- Strong experience managing Azure Virtual Machines, networking, and storage services.
- Experience performing patch management and remediation across cloud infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Azure security best practices including identity, access, and network controls.
- Experience monitoring and troubleshooting infrastructure performance and availability.
- Familiarity with Windows Server administration in a cloud environment.
- Experience with Azure monitoring and management tools such as Azure Monitor or Log Analytics.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Azure Backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with Azure Policy, security posture management, or compliance frameworks.
- Understanding of hybrid cloud environments integrating Azure with on-premises infrastructure.
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate.
