Join Our Team as a Fund Development Assistant at Between Friends!

If so, Between Friends is looking for a Fund Development Assistant to support our fundraising, communications, and community engagement initiatives.

The RoleThe Fund Development Assistant supports the organization’s visibility and relationship-building efforts across Corporate Calgary, key fundraising events, including the annual Golf Tournament, and all social media platforms. This role helps develop and implement strategic communications, strengthens community partnerships, and enhances public awareness of programs and initiatives. The Specialist contributes to digital content creation, event promotion, media engagement, and stewardship activities while ensuring consistent, compelling, and brand-aligned messaging across all channels.
What You’ll Do****Public Relations & Corporate Calgary Engagement
- Support the development and execution of public relations strategies to strengthen Between Friends’ presence within corporate Calgary.
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners, sponsors, and community stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for corporate engagement, sponsorships, partnerships, and visibility.
- Assist with preparing corporate outreach materials including briefing notes, presentations, speaking notes, and communications packages.
- Support corporate groups visiting and volunteering at Between Friends camps throughout the spring and summer seasons.
Fundraising Event Support – Annual Golf Tournament
- Assist in planning and promoting the annual Between Friends Golf Tournament.
- Coordinate marketing materials, sponsorship communications, and event-day logistics.
- Support the creation of event-related communications including announcements, social media content, and participant updates.
- Track engagement, feedback, and participation insights to help evaluate event success.
Social Media & Digital Communications
- Develop, schedule, and publish engaging content across social media platforms.
- Manage online engagement including comments, reviews, testimonials, and community interactions.
- Monitor social media analytics to assess performance and identify opportunities for growth.
- Support digital marketing initiatives including newsletters, website updates, and email campaigns.
Marketing & Communications Support

Assist in assessing promotional needs and developing marketing strategies for programs and events.

Contribute to the preparation of promotional materials such as brochures, newsletters, website content, and event marketing materials.

Access to a reliable vehicle and ability to travel within Calgary and surrounding areas when required.
Work ScheduleThis position follows a part-time schedule of 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
- Monday & Friday: Work from home
- Tuesday – Thursday: In-office in Calgary
Due to the nature of this role, some responsibilities—such as events or corporate engagement activities—may occasionally require flexibility outside of regular working hours.
