About the role

Do you enjoy hands-on work where you can troubleshoot, maintain, and support essential equipment across a dynamic site? Can you see yourself working as an Electrical Service Attendant, performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs to ensure electrical systems operate safely and efficiently? Do you like being in a role where you contribute to reliable operations while working alongside skilled trades and technical teams? If you answered yes, then this may be the job for you!

What will you be doing!

  • Performing preventive maintenance and minor repairs on electrical equipment across site.
  • Inspecting and servicing electrical equipment, including light replacements, greasing motors, and supporting maintenance tasks.
  • Assisting electricians and other tradespersons with assigned work activities.
  • Completing job documentation, including Avantis job cards, to maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition and ensuring proper storage after use.
  • Following proper material handling and disposal procedures in accordance with company requirements.
  • Maintaining safe and clean work areas in compliance with provincial, federal, and company regulations.
  • Attending safety meetings and reporting hazards, concerns, or incidents as required.
  • Applying event-free tools and pre-job briefing practices during all assigned work activities.
  • Supporting team operations and contributing to a safe and efficient work environment. Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
    • Secondary school graduation diploma and a minimum of one (1) year of related electrical experience.
  • Experience
    • Experience supporting electrical maintenance or service activities in an industrial or technical environment is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Knowledge of electrical equipment and associated systems to support maintenance and service activities.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings to understand job scope.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively across multi-trade teams.
    • Ability to work safely and follow established procedures and guidelines.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality work standards.
    • Ability to support team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions:

  • Working schedule: Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week.
  • This position is part of the M&E Union and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the M&E Collective Agreement. As a member of this bargaining unit, you’ll benefit from clear expectations around hours of work, wages, vacation, and other conditions that support a fair and consistent working environment.
