Starting Rate: $112,338 annually

Salary Range: $112,338 - $131,420 annually

Hours of Work: 37.50 hours per week

Classification: Management Class M4

Status: Permanent Full-time

The Opportunity:
The Manager of Development Engineering and Corridor Management is responsible for overseeing

development reviews and corridor management processes, ensuring compliance with all professional,

regulatory, and municipal standards.

What you will do:
• Oversee the input and operational review of development applications within Engineering and Public Works

(EPW).

  • Ensure that all applicable municipal engineering and planning principles are adhered to during application

assessments.

  • Conduct and coordinate field inspections to verify compliance with engineering standards.
  • Manage the corridor permits and coordinate with Municipal 511 for road closures related to engineering

work.

  • Collaborate with external developers and municipal stakeholders to facilitate project requirements and

scheduling.

  • Guide and train staff on processes and procedures to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.

  • Coordinate employee performance evaluations and professional development training.

  • Develop and update Engineering Design Standards and ensure alignment with industry best practices.

  • Collaborate with the Legal Department on subdivision, servicing, and cost-sharing agreements.

  • Assist with departmental budget preparation and ensure alignment with financial targets.

  • Conduct financial analysis to forecast and increase revenue streams related to development and permits.

  • Related duties, as assigned.

What you will need:
• University degree in a field related to functional expertise requirements of assigned department – e.g.

Business, Information Technology, Environmental Sciences, Civil Engineering or other related program.

  • Member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and

Technologists (OACETT) holding either a C.Tech. or CET Designation.

  • Member in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (P.Eng.) would be an asset.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation would be an asset.
  • Minimum of five (5) years directly related progressive experience, preferably in Municipal Development

Engineering, including a minimum of two (2) years’ project management experience.

  • Equivalent education, designation, and experience may be accepted in lieu of the above requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable legislation, standards and guidelines related to Development

Engineering.

  • Demonstrated technological proficiency and a thorough knowledge of Civil Engineering practices and

Planning principles.

  • Proven ability to accomplish performance objectives, and well-developed leadership, interpersonal and

organizational skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills coupled with the ability to manage, and coordinate

opposing views and find solutions and resolutions to complex issues.

  • Ability to attend meetings outside of regular District business hours, as required.
