About The Role

The Operations Manager at AWP Safety will embody our core values of Ownership, Trust, and Teamwork. This leadership role requires a passionate individual dedicated to safety and team development. The successful candidate will oversee field operations, manage and mentor a team of over 50 Protectors (field-based crews), and support our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives to ensure a safe working environment for all. The Operations Manager will be responsible for coordinating daily operational activities, including site visits, safety inspections, and quality assurance, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role is pivotal in driving operational success through effective leadership, strategic planning, and a focus on safety and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all projects are executed efficiently and safely.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; University degree or post-secondary education preferred 1-2 years of supervisory experience, with a proven track record of building and leading teams of 20+ members Experience in traffic control, construction, or related fields is advantageous Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Valid driver’s license and ability to meet AWP Safety driver standards Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Commitment to safety and promoting safe workplace practices

Responsibilities

Supervise and lead a team of over 50 Protectors, providing coaching, motivation, and development opportunities Conduct site visits and safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality protocols Manage recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of team members throughout their employment lifecycle Address employee concerns promptly, maintaining high levels of customer service and team morale Facilitate team-building activities and maintain effective communication channels within the team Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and maintenance of company assets Plan and coordinate staffing requirements for traffic control projects, ensuring adequate coverage for all jobs Monitor and evaluate customer requirements, adjusting operations as needed to meet client expectations Prepare operational reports, maintain organized files, and complete administrative tasks efficiently
