The Role: Engineer 2

The Engineer 2 will help lead a small team and use 3D modelling techniques and perform the detailed analysis necessary to meet design criteria (including Regulatory Body approval) to produce shop-level drawings for Marine enclosures. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other departments, clients, and vendors in order to provide innovative solutions for our products. take on challenging projects that will test your ability to create creative design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage small design teams including project planning, scheduling and status reporting
• Lead and participate in all aspects of new product development and the product development process
• Create 3D models, detailed drawings, BOMs, calculations, and FEA studies
• Use modern analytical processes such as DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) to develop low cost and high-quality products led mechanical design work including material selection
• Prepare documentation and submissions for regulatory approval
• Liaise in a professional manner with clients, consultants, contractors and vendors as required

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of engineering experience, ideally in manufacturing
• Strong SolidWorks skills
• Experience with steel/aluminum design and structural analysis
• Project or small team leadership experience
• Marine or naval architecture experience is an asset
• EIT or PEng designation is an asset
• Detailed oriented and the ability to prioritize effectively
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on design and testing skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
