We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Business Analytics, Co-op Student to be responsible for supporting and contributing towards the OLG's operational, financial, digital, and strategic initiatives through the compilation, analysis, and interpretation of information to all senior decision makers.

Your Role In The Game

  • Responsible for supporting analytical initiatives, projects, and deliverables from lines of OLG business.
  • Develop analytical models, reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI
  • Collect data from various sources and proactively monitor customer and operational performance across the Enterprise and report on areas of opportunity.
  • Provide objective analytical expertise in the development of high-profile business cases and/or ad hoc projects.
  • Monitor all published operational data and take action/ownership to ensure accuracy, consistency, relevance, and timeliness of the information. Contribute to improving the quality of information by auditing existing data collection/input processes.
  • Responsible for the creation of support documentation for analysis findings, presentations, reports, training sessions, templates, etc.
  • Works with key stakeholders to understand relevant business opportunities and propose analytics-based solutions to the business challenges, often working & collaborating closely with other teams across the organization.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders at all levels to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights.

What You Need To Play

  • Working toward a university degree or College diploma in business/commerce, statistics, computer science, economics, finance, or mathematics.
  • Knowledge of key languages and platforms such as: Microsoft Power BI, Python, SQL, Hadoop, Alteryx, Excel.
  • Solid understanding of database concepts and data modelling.
  • Application development or programming with Python and other back-end platforms.
  • Experience collecting, wrangling, cleansing, organizing, and automating disparate data sources to power analytical outputs.
  • Analytical skills: ability to apply statistical methods and quantitative analysis techniques to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
  • Data translation capabilities: ability to explain analytical and statistical modeling to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to details: responsible for producing reports and analysis that are accurate and reliable.
  • Results driven with excellent problem-solving skills to identify problems and develop innovative solutions to resolve them.
  • Business acumen: Have a good understanding of the industry and OLG’s business. An effective self-starter with excellent time-management and interpersonal skills who thrives in an environment that demands teamwork.
