Contract Length: 5 Months Location: McArthur River, Saskatchewan Fly In Fly Out Camp accommodations provided Rotation (2 weeks in-2weeks out, 11 hours a day) Company Charter Flights provided - Departing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Contractors are expected to travel to Saskatoon for chartered flights to camp sites.

Description
The Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing underground construction and maintenance activities, with primary responsibility for mechanical and piping scopes while supporting electrical and civil work in collaboration with subject matter experts. This is a hands-on field leadership role requiring strong safety leadership, contractor coordination, planning, and execution skills to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project objectives.
The successful candidate will possess extensive underground mining experience, strong supervisory capabilities, and a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary field crews in a heavy industrial environment.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Field Supervision
Lead and supervise underground construction crews, contractors, and subcontractors. Promote and enforce a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with all site safety standards and procedures. Coordinate daily work activities, monitor progress, and ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope. Conduct toolbox meetings, field inspections, hazard assessments, and safety briefings. Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to field personnel.
Project Execution
Manage underground mechanical and piping construction activities from planning through completion. Coordinate supporting electrical, civil, and concrete work with internal technical specialists. Monitor contractor productivity, workmanship, and adherence to project specifications. Resolve field issues and coordinate solutions with engineering, maintenance, operations, and project teams. Support project scheduling, resource planning, and work package execution.
Quality & Documentation
Ensure construction activities comply with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Review work progress and verify completed work prior to turnover. Maintain accurate field documentation, daily reports, safety records, and project updates. Identify and resolve deficiencies while ensuring timely closeout of outstanding items
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of heavy industrial or mining experience preferred; exceptional candidates with 4–9 years demonstrating strong leadership experience will also be considered. Previous underground mining experience is required. Proven experience supervising mechanical construction, piping installation, or multidisciplinary field projects. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Experience managing contractors and coordinating multiple work scopes simultaneously. Strong computer skills with the ability to complete project documentation and reporting. Current First Aid certification. WHMIS certification. Successful completion of pre-access substance testing.
Education and Certifications
Journeyperson Mechanical certification required. Journeyperson Electrical and/or Instrumentation certification considered an asset. Supervisor training or leadership certification required. CSO designation considered an asset. Previous experience working at the McArthur River site is considered an asset.
Work Environment
Fly-In/Fly-Out assignment based at McArthur River, Saskatchewan. Company-paid charter flights departing from Saskatoon. Full camp accommodations provided. Rotational schedule of 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, working 11-hour shifts. Pre-access training, orientation, and substance testing are required prior to mobilization. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring compliance with all site access and safety requirements.
