Temporary Maintenance Summer Student

Position Details: This is a summer 2026 position, and the schedule is Monday to Friday 8 hours a day.
The houry rate is $22.00
A Day in the Life: Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Summer Student is responsible for providing essential support to the maintenance team and assisting with various maintenance-related tasks. This is an opportunity to gain practical experience in areas such as organizing maintenance parts and tools, assisting with preventive maintenance activities, supporting minor repairs, and learning to safely operate light equipment under supervision.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Interact professionally, effectively, and courteously with all Bunge employees and contractors.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining the cleanliness of the maintenance shop, tools, and parts storage areas.
- Support the receiving, storing, and organizing of incoming maintenance parts and supplies.
- Assist with data entry into the computer system (SAP) for maintenance-related inventory and work orders.
- Assist in developing Bills of Material (BOM) for equipment.
- Learn and assist with basic preventive maintenance tasks on equipment and facilities, following company standards.
- Use hand tools and power tools under supervision, such as wrenches and other common maintenance equipment.
- Under supervision and after proper training, operate simple industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, or basket trucks.
- Work from elevated areas such as platforms or manlifts, utilizing fall protection equipment as necessary and under supervision.
- Support the maintenance team with general housekeeping tasks within the plant and maintenance areas.
- Demonstrate flexibility in work assignments and be available for occasional overtime as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of Bunge policies and procedures and comply with them consistently, ensuring all safety and housekeeping programs are followed.
- Perform work in compliance with all policies and GMP rules, reporting any conditions that may put product quality at risk.
- Perform work in a safety-conscious manner, complying with all policies and procedures, and reporting any safety risks to personnel and/or property.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
- Good working knowledge of PC applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook. Familiarity with SAP is an asset.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule and occasional overtime when needed.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Possesses a willingness to learn about stock part labeling and organization.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships with other colleagues.
- Must be able to work in varying climates and environments.
- Interest in mechanical or technical fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn to operate simple industrial equipment is an asset.
