We are currently seeking a Z/OS System Programming Engineer - Remote Canada Position to join our team in Calgary, Alberta (CA-AB), Canada (CA).
Day to Day /Job Function Responsible for the design and maintenance of the operating environment that provides the technology, stability, and power to meet the Firm's z-platform computing requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years experience in zOS internals
- 10+ years experience in Strong Catalog management Knowledge and experience
- 10+ years of experience in trouble shooting skills
- 10+ years of experience with z/OS and ISV software installations
- 10+ year experience in testing skills (design tests to validate software functionality, robustness, performance)
- 10+ years of experience in HCD/Hardware knowledge, REXX experience
- 10+ years experience in zOSMF, rest APIs, Kafka, LinuxOne, ansibles, python and other new zos technologies is a plus
- Able to work in a stressed situation like production system outage
- Strong USS/OMVS skills
- Assembler skills for usermods maintenance and dump reading are desirable but not mandatory
- Weekend support and on-call rotation
Preferred Skills:
- Self-motivated individual and a team player
- Outstanding researcher/investigator with outside the box line of thought
- Good verbal and written English communications skills
- At least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelors in Computer Science/IT related degree or equivalent work experience
