Job Description

The Member Services Representative the first point of contact for the YWCA Health and Fitness Centre and a hub in the facility. If you have excellent customer service skills and thrive in a dynamic environment, if you are passionate about health and fitness are supportive and a team player, we are interested in you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Greet and welcome all members and guests to the fitness centre, answer phones and reply to email enquiries

  • Give tours of the facility and register new members and guests

  • Take payment for pro shop items and personal training sessions

  • Provide excellent member care and promote all customer retention initiatives

  • Promote and register members for land and aquatic programs, classes and events

  • Handle member concerns/complaints

  • Help maintain a safe environment in the facility including monitoring check-ins

  • Part of the first response team, responding to emergencies and first aids in the building

  • Train on and be proficient in our membership software (Club Automation)

  • Work with the Finance Team to ensure all EFT payments are ready for transaction deadlines. Follow-up with any outstanding payments ensuring all types of billing information on members’ files are current. Problem-solve any cash-out issues.

  • As part of the membership team, ensure all members are in good standing

  • Opening and/or closing duties as scheduled

  • Other duties as required

What you’ll need:

  • Must have current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Certificate

  • Previous customer service experience with a strong background in sales

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a busy team environment

  • Proficient in computer skills

  • Experience with emergency building evacuation

  • A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.
