Position Title: Equipment & Retail Specialist Company Name: CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures

Reports To: Lodge Manager

Location of Work: Remote worksite near various locations in BC (near Revelstoke, Golden, Radium, Valemount)

Job Status: Full-time, Seasonal

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Overview The Equipment & Retail Specialist is skilled in technical shop duties, retail product knowledge, and sales, and lends a hand with cleaning duties around the lodge. This role plays a key role in guest satisfaction in the day-to-day operation of the lodge.

This is a seasonal job opportunity. Daily rate of pay is based on an 11-hour day, worked as a split shift. A typical schedule consists of 2 weeks on and 1 week off. Accommodation is available while on shift, at no extra cost, for staff joining our team.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maintain fleet of skis, snowboards, poles, and bindings.
  • Adjust bindings and settings to support the needs of each guest.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels for equipment and retail stock.
  • Oversee all merchandising and displays in retail shop, as well as being educated on product knowledge.
  • Process all cash, debit, and credit transactions.
  • Maintain a clean and professional work area.
  • Support the ski program by assisting with radio duty.
  • Adhere to OH&S and WHMIS standards.
  • Help support implementation of CMH health and safety initiatives.
  • Help support implementation of CMH sustainability initiatives.
  • Train, participate in and provide support, as required, during emergency response situations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of technical shop experience with ski/board industry.
  • Salomon Certification considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 1 year of retail store experience.
  • Experience with ordering and inventory management.
  • Background in luxury hospitality or remote ski lodges, preferred.

  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, as well as an ability to learn other relevant software platforms.
  • Able to prioritize tasks in a complex and fast-paced environment with seasonal workload fluctuations and changing priorities.
  • Confidence to interact with all levels of the company in a hub-and-spoke model in which many individuals are remote.
  • Trustworthy, goal-oriented, respectful, and self-directed in completing the core functions of the role.
  • Sees projects through to completion including follow-up on any identified issues.
  • Strong sense of work ethic and accountability, with an ability to function well in a team environment and focus on team success.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks, responsibilities, and goals; use goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans.

Working Conditions This type of lodge work is challenging and demanding. Successful staff are intrinsically motivated by a passion for the ski/board industry and creating memorable experiences with our guests.

Work Environment

  • This job is in a remote area of British Columbia. Employees are required to find their own way to and from the lodge or helicopter staging area for work shifts.
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
  • This position is required, at times, to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business.
  • This position may require occasional travel to CMH areas, as well as some travel to industry functions on an occasional basis.

During these times of change, this position requires the flexibility and willingness to accept new responsibilities and potentially transfer others.

Compensation A competitive daily rate will be provided starting at $249.29 based on skillset and experience, along with 4% vacation pay and potential opportunities to heli-hike and heli-ski, as available. Further details will be discussed in a personal interview.
