About the role
PTW Energy Services is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician with a strong oil and gas background to join our Brooks team. This position is ideal for someone who understands field operations in southeast Alberta, values safety, and takes pride in keeping production facilities running efficiently.
Position Details
- Location: Brooks, AB (Preference for candidates who are local or familiar with the area and surrounding oilfield operations)
- Rate: Negotiable, based on experience
- Shift: Flexible (8–12 hours/day depending on workload)
- Overtime: Available on occasion
- Accommodations: May be considered for qualified non-local applicants
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades on electrical systems in oil and gas production and processing facilities.
- Work with VFDs (various brands), PLCs, field devices, and motor control systems.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical distribution and control wiring in a safe and compliant manner.
- Collaborate with operators and instrumentation technicians to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all PTW safety standards and field procedures.
Requirements
- Certified Journeyperson Electrician (Red Seal preferred).
- Team player with a strong sense of accountability and initiative.
- 3–5+ years of experience in oil and gas maintenance, construction, or facility operations.
- Proficient in low- and medium-voltage systems, automation, and motor controls.
- Must be fluent in English (first language) for clear communication in safety-critical environments.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Current CSO, Standard First Aid, ESC Fall Protection, and H2S Alive certifications.
- Must be local to the Brooks area or within reasonable commuting distance (Bassano, Duchess, Rosemary, Tilley, and surrounding).
- Reliable, safety-driven, and capable of working independently or within small teams.
- Able and willing to take on-call duties as part of a scheduled rotation.
