Construction Labourer
Job Type: Full-Time Location: Cochrane, Ontario ABOUT MATERIAL CONNECT CORP: Material Connect Corp. POSITION SUMMARY
The Construction Labourer plays a key role in supporting our carpenters and project teams on residential and commercial construction projects. This position is responsible for site preparation, material handling, general labour, and assisting with day-to-day construction activities to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to MCC's quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous construction or labour experience is considered an asset but is not required. Ability to perform physically demanding work in a variety of weather conditions. Willingness to learn new skills and take directions from supervisors and experienced tradespeople. Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and reliable attendance. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist carpenters and tradespeople with daily construction activities. Prepare and maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites. Load, unload, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment as required. Perform demolition, site preparation, and general labour tasks. Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely and responsibly. Support framing, finishing, and other construction activities under the direction of experienced team members. Follow project instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently. Help maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment. Identify and report safety concerns or job site issues. Represent MCC with professionalism and a positive attitude on every job site.
