The Opportunity
We are currently seeking aManager, Contract Managementto join theContract Managementteam based in Sudbury, Ontario.
This is an18-month fixed-term on-siteposition, workingMonday to Friday. This posting is for an existing position vacancy.
The role provides strategic leadership to a team of Contract Specialists, Strategic Contract Coordinators, and Supervisors responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of contracts, including goods, services, engineering, and construction agreements that support operations, capital projects, and shutdown activities. The position oversees contract governance, risk management, and performance monitoring to ensure alignment with business objectives and compliance with organizational policies. Success in this role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and deep expertise in contract execution, commercial negotiations, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and expert guidance on contract management across goods, services, engineering, and construction portfolios supporting operations and projects.
- Ensure effective contracting strategies that enable uninterrupted production, strong supplier performance, and alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and safety requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a high‑performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee major contract negotiations, dispute resolution, and claims management, serving as the primary escalation point and ensuring alignment with business risk tolerance and corporate policies.
- Collaborate closely with operational leaders to optimize contracting approaches that support operational reliability, cost efficiency, and long‑term business needs.
- Establish and enforce governance frameworks, policies, and performance measures to drive contract compliance, risk mitigation, and value generation.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, resolving high‑stakes issues and supporting effective, long‑term partnerships.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying operational and process inefficiencies and implementing best practices and performance‑enhancing initiatives across the contract portfolio.

About You
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required in Business Administration, Engineering, Contract Management, Project Management Professional or a related area.
- Master’s degree or professional certifications such as PMP, CPCM, SCMP, or equivalent is preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing large-scale contract portfolios.
Skills:
- Strong ability to evaluate objectives, assess risks, synthesize complex information, and determine optimal strategic pathways that maximize business value.
- Deep knowledge of contract law, procurement processes, regulatory requirements, risk management, and project management principles.
- Proven capability to lead diverse teams, build cross‑functional relationships, drive accountability, and manage multiple priorities in dynamic, fast‑paced environments with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑engagement skills, supported by high emotional intelligence, business acumen, and organizational awareness to navigate complex environments effectively.
