About the role
What is the opportunity?
As a Municipal Syndicate Associate with RBC Wealth Management, you will provide a centralized point of contact for new issue order flow, respond to the majority of all new issue order flow for all Wealth Management deals, be the single point of contact for Capital Markets Underwriters for order flow and insight in Wealth Management interest, and also be the single point of contact for Financial Advisors for all of their new issue municipal business. This role will be 5 days in office.
What will you do?
- Review new issue orders, vet accounts and work with underwriting and trading desk during the allotment process
- Review and process trade tickets accurately and in a timely order
- Provide daily support to multiple trading desks across the fixed income business, as well as other stakeholders to resolve any open questions/issues
- Become a subject matter expert to mitigate risk and drive efficiencies as it relates to new issue order flow
- Communicate to the team any new issue order flow updates or changes
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- This role requires a proactive individual capable of prioritizing tasks while also lending support to various projects during periods of lower activity.
Nice-to-have
- Strong demonstrated ability to be flexible, patient and prioritize in a fast-paced procedural area
- Able to multi-task and work independently in a customer-centric environment
- Highly collaborative and team-focused with ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals
- Series 7, 63 and 52 licenses (if Series 7 was obtained after November 7, 2011)
- Proficiency with Tradeweb and Bloomberg
- 2+ years of experience working in Financial Services industry
- Basic understanding of bonds/coupons
