About the role

Animation Production Solutions Consultant

✨ Join Toon Boom – Where Creativity and Technology Meet! For over 30 years, Toon Boom has been the global leader in 2D animation software, trusted by top studios like Disney, Fox, and Netflix. With innovation at our core, we empower creatives worldwide to bring their stories to life.

🌍 Work Location Our office is located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. We are ideally seeking candidates based in the Montreal area, with 2 days per week in the office, or candidates based in the Toronto area who work fully remotely.

📢 Hiring Status We are actively hiring for this role! Every application is carefully reviewed, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience—our dedicated HR team of one is working hard to respond to everyone.

🤩 What you'll do Toon Boom is bringing AI-assisted production to 2D animation. Ember — our new family of AI features inside Harmony, beginning with colouring and in-betweening and expanding across pre-production and the production pipeline — compresses the most labour-intensive stages of the animation pipeline while keeping the artist in control of every frame.

Ember changes what Toon Boom sells. For thirty years, studios have bought software licenses from us. With Ember, they will buy production outcomes - that shift demands the existence of this role: someone who can walk a studio floor, read a pipeline the way a line producer does, quantify the value that Ember will deliver, and scale the Enterprise value delivery narrative. This role is the linchpin of Ember's commercial model; few roles anywhere in the software industry are as impactful for the revenue engine.

You will

Own pipeline discovery. Embed with prospect studios to map their production pipeline end to end — drawing counts, episode volumes, team structures, stage-by-stage effort (animator-weeks per episode for colouring, cleanup, in-betweening), outsourcing arrangements, etc.) Build the value case. Model and articulate Ember’s value delivery, producing a defensible, studio-specific savings estimate that anchors both the price and the pitch. Run the technical sale. Deliver demos, scope and lead pilot projects on the customer’s pipeline, define pilot success metrics with the customer, and convert measured pilot results into the commercial business case. Feed the product. Channel pipeline realities and feature gaps from the field back to the Ember product team; you will be one of the most important inputs to the roadmap. Codify the method. Develop the reusable value-assessment framework (effort benchmarks by pipeline stage, pilot playbooks, ROI calculators) that lets this motion scale beyond you.

🎯 What you'll need You have 5+ years of experience in 2D animation production, in a role with pipeline-wide visibility — line producer, production manager, pipeline TD/supervisor, animation director, or studio operations lead. You have lived the reality of production pipelines and delivery deadlines. You have working fluency across the full production pipeline, from preproduction through cut-out animation, colouring, and in-betweening — you know what each stage actually costs in human effort, how it's estimated, scheduled, and outsourced. You have commercial instinct — experience in pre-sales, solutions consulting, value engineering, or client-facing production scoping, or clear evidence that you can build a business case and present it to executives. You have quantitative comfort — you can build and defend an effort/cost model in a spreadsheet and explain your assumptions to production executives. You communicate exceptionally well — comfortable presenting to a room that includes both a supervising animator and a CFO. You have Toon Boom Harmony fluency (strongly preferred); deep familiarity with equivalent production tools is also considered.
