Role Description The Data Consultant role at Carbonsoft is a full-time hybrid position based in Mississauga, ON, with some flexibility for work from home. In this role, the Data Consultant will work with stakeholders to understand business needs, translate them into data requirements, and design data-driven solutions. Typical day-to-day tasks include gathering and analyzing data, developing data models, and building ETL processes to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and accessible. The Data Consultant will prepare reports and dashboards, present insights and recommendations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams such as IT, product, and operations. The role also involves documenting data processes, maintaining data quality standards, and contributing to continuous improvement of data workflows and analytics capabilities.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and experience in Data Analytics to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights. Candidates should possess skills in Data Science, including familiarity with statistical methods or machine learning concepts, to support advanced analysis and modeling. Candidates should possess expertise in Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes to integrate, cleanse, and transform data from multiple sources. Candidates should possess Data Modeling skills to design efficient, scalable, and well-structured data models for reporting and analysis. Relevant qualifications include proficiency with common analytics and data tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, BI platforms), and experience working with databases or cloud data environments. Strong communication skills, ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences, and collaborative working style with cross-functional teams are beneficial. A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Information Systems is an asset. Experience in consulting, client-facing roles, or project-based work, including requirements gathering and solution design, is considered an advantage.
