The Department of Infrastructure (INF) provides high quality services to the public and Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) departments, boards and agencies including the planning, design, construction, acquisition, operation and maintenance of public transportation infrastructure and the buildings, works and equipment required for the GNWT to deliver its programs and services. INF makes essential petroleum products available for sale to the public where these products are not provided by the private sector, and promotes the development and increased use of energy efficient technologies. INF also regulates electrical and mechanical safety services and licenses individuals and vehicles operating in the territory.

The Comptroller, Marine Transportation Services (Comptroller) is responsible for the overall financial management of the Division and for the provision of timely financial analysis to support business decisions to achieve the Division¿s purpose and mandate and ensure compliance with applicable standards, policies, and procedures.
Critical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including Public Service Accounting Principles.
- Knowledge of management accounting practices to support a profit enterprise.
- The ability to understand and implement financial systems.
- Financial, statistical, analytical and conceptual thinking.
Typically attained by
A relevant diploma or degree with accounting focus or professional accounting designation, with seven years of financial management experience using financial software programs, including audit preparation, variance reporting, contracts, financial analysis, and three years supervisory experience.
Equivalencies may include
Relevant diploma or degree in accounting or finance and 4th level (advanced standing) of a professional accounting designation. Must have relevant progressive experience to the senior management level. Experience with audit preparation, variance reporting, contracts and financial analysis.
