Role and Facility Information
We are looking for one generalist OBGYN interested in working in a community hospital with 6-7 home call 24-hour shifts monthly. We are a close group of physicians and prefer someone who excels at working independently as part of a supportive community of practice.
Our group of three obstetricians-gynecologists provide primary and consultative maternity care and work closely with excellent family practice and midwifery colleagues. There is the option to supervise elective medical students with the University of British Columbia if desired. There is opportunity to share existing office space, as all of us practice out of the same office.
Physician locums and advanced learners often comment on our exceptional collegiality, culture and interest in quality improvement and support for each other. Fraser Health Authority is routinely one of BC’s top employers and provides many funded opportunities for career growth and development.
We look forward to working with the candidate who is the right fit, to deliver both maternity care and gynecology services in the long term with which our patients, staff and physicians can share a sense of pride. As a member of the Fraser Health medical staff, you will participate in the University of British Columbia (UBC) medical education program and are expected to apply for a clinical faculty appointment in the Division of Obstetrics & Gynecology, UBC.
Provisional license is acceptable and supervision available for US board certified physicians.
Nestled amid the scenic beauty of the Fraser River and the Golden Ears Mountains, Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows provides a mild climate, numerous playgrounds and schools (inclusive of both public and top-tier private options) and a thriving arts community. The region is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering popular activities such as horse riding, biking, and hiking with an extensive network of trails spanning hundreds of kilometres. Additionally, residents can enjoy water-centric activities like canoeing, water skiing, fishing, and swimming right in the local area.
As part of metro Vancouver, Maple Ridge is a mix of big city and mountain town with close proximity to Vancouver International Airport (38 kms) as well as a 15-minute drive from the pristine trails and camping of Golden Ears Provincial Park.
Please forward a letter of interest, CV and three reference letters or referee contact names by no later than November 12, 2025. Anticipated start of December 1, 2025 or as soon as interviews are conducted.
Fraser Health is the heart of health care for over two million people in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley in British Columbia, Canada, on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Coast Salish and Nlaka’pamux Nations and is home to 32 First Nations within the Fraser Salish region.
People - those we care for and those who care for them - are at the heart of everything we do. Our hospital and community-based services are delivered by a team of 48,000+ staff, medical staff and volunteers.
We are committed to planetary health and value diversity in the work force. We strive to maintain an environment of respect, caring and trust. Fraser Health’s hiring practices aspire to ensure all individuals are treated in an inclusive, equitable and culturally safe manner.
Together, we are the heart of health care.
