About This Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Completions Tech to join our Drilling & Completions department in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Supervisor, Completions Engineering & Water Management, this multifaceted role is critical to ensure regulatory adherence for completions, workovers, abandonments, and water management operations across Alberta, B.C. and the Northwest Territories. The successful candidate will be responsible for regulatory reporting, data management, and operational support, ensuring compliance with AER and BCER requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in oil and gas regulatory environments.

Job functions will involve:

  • Prepare and submit regulatory reporting and notifications to AER and BCER (e.g., new completions, amendments, zonal/cut-cup abandonments, surface casing vent flow reports, field work notifications, notice of operations, etc.)
  • File daily and end-of-well reports, frac fluid disclosures, and water source data via AER DDS, OneStop and BCER portals
  • Apply for and manage Temporary Diversion Licences (TDLs) and term licences
  • Track diverted volumes and ensure accurate reporting under AER Directive 77 and Water Act requirements
  • Assist in initiating AFEs and job setups for completions, well servicing, abandonment, and water transfer operations
  • Assist in operations scheduling for completions and water transfers
  • Maintain corporate well files and ensure completeness for audits and inspections
  • Review and track daily field reports from Wellview & Siteview for completions, workovers, abandonments, and water management
  • Preparing OROGO documentation preparation for submission in coordination with ARO asset team
  • Maintaining Abandonment Excel Spreadsheet for Drilling & Completions
  • Input cut/cap information into Paramount Abandonment and ClearOps databases
  • Incident Reporting into Maximo Database
  • Reviewing Paramount’s Business Development ARO/ Workover Dashboard to ascertain information matches our other databases

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in completions, abandonments, or water management regulatory administration in Alberta and British Columbia
  • Strong working knowledge of oil and gas terminology (UWIs, type of various well operations) is preferred to understand requirements for submissions
  • Knowledgeable in AER and BCER reporting regulations (specifically fracturing, workovers and abandonment submissions)
  • Proficiency in Wellview, Siteview, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with regulatory portals (DDS, OneStop, BCER e-submissions)
  • Experience with Maximo and Petrinex is an asset
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive deadlines and work collaboratively across teams
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Upstream Petroleum Certificate or equivalent education is considered an asset
