About the role
As an ETL Test Lead, you will make an impact by ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of data-driven solutions supporting critical business operations. You will be a valued member of the data engineering and quality assurance team, working closely with cross-functional partners to validate ETL processes, enhance data integrity, and support scalable testing practices.
In this role, you will:
- Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate ETL processes and ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Execute test cases and Python scripts to validate data transformations, integrations, and end-to-end workflows.
- Collaborate with data engineers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data quality issues efficiently.
- Use SQL to perform complex data validation across multiple databases and environments.
- Document and communicate test results, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Oversee the maintenance, readiness, and enhancement of test environments.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in data testing methodologies and quality assurance processes.
- Monitor test progress, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Partner closely with development teams to integrate testing throughout the development lifecycle.
- Lead knowledge-sharing sessions to promote best practices in data and ETL testing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.
- Support the implementation and optimization of automated testing frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure testing approaches align with key business objectives.

What you need to have to be considered:
Proficiency in ETL validation techniques, tools, and best practices.
- Strong programming experience with Python for test automation and scripting.
- In-depth knowledge of database concepts and strong SQL skills for advanced data validation.
- Demonstrated experience designing and executing test strategies for data-focused environments.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail when identifying data discrepancies.
- Effective communication skills to articulate findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technologies, tools, and testing methodologies.
These will help you stand out:
- Experience implementing automated testing frameworks for data and ETL validation.
- Prior work in highly collaborative, cross-functional technical environments.
- Hands-on experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives in QA practices.
- Familiarity with modern data platforms, cloud environments, or large-scale data ecosystems.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until February 22, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $ 84,500 - $ 99,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
