Join our Peace River Public Health Team as a Registered Nurse (RN) with our Seasonal Immunization and Rapid Response Program. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a high-impact public health initiative that supports community wellness through immunization and rapid response services. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to the delivery of immunizations and health services to diverse populations, including infants, children under five, and their families. This role offers a flexible schedule, ideal for nurses with strong availability and a passion for public health. Your experience in immunization or working with young children and families will be highly valued as you help protect vulnerable populations and respond to emerging health needs. AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning- modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:
Must possess strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment. Experience working with infants, young children and families is highly valued. Candidates must demonstrate adaptability, professionalism and a commitment to public health principles. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Experience with Connect Care or other electronic health record systems is an asset. Preference given to candidates with 2 years Public Health experience, immunization or community outreach experience. Familiarity with culturally safe care practices is beneficial.
