SEM is seeking an experienced and motivated Manager of Labrador Operations to lead the day- to -day operations of our Town of Labrador City office. Reporting to senior management, this role combines operational leadership, project management, client relations, and hands-on field work.

The successful candidate will be a key local presence in Labrador West, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the high standard our clients expect.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Leadership

Manage all day-to-day activities of the Labrador City office

Lead by example through professionalism, integrity, and accountability Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture Ensure corporate policies, work culture, and safety standards are upheld and adhered to Contribute to general report preparation, proposal writing, and other duties as required

Staff & Scheduling

Manage Labrador-based staff, seasonal field staff and contract employees

Work with SEM teams to build and complete weekly office and field schedules In conjunction with SEM managers, ensure all Labrador West staff hold proper work permits and training

Project & Client Management

Manage projects primarily related to Labrador W

Coordinate with project managers on work approvals and task assignments Liaise with clients and government officials, maintaining professional communication Assist with project logistics and daily operations Obtain Pit Permits and other required approvals Manage and support field work, surveys, and maintain/operate equipment

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Post-secondary education preferably in Science, Engineering or a technical degree/diploma. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in a supervisory or operations role Experience working in the mining, resource, or environmental consulting sector is an asset Field experience in environmental work Familiarity with the Labrador West region and its regulatory environment is a strong asset
