Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Farm Hand to support the daily operations of a pig barn and farm property. This role is responsible for the care and monitoring of pigs, maintaining barn cleanliness, supporting feeding operations, assisting with field work, and completing general farm duties.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a physically demanding, hands-on farm environment and be willing to work flexible hours based on operational and animal care needs.
Key Responsibilities
Animal Care:

Feed, water, and monitor pigs daily.
-
Observe animal health and behaviour and report concerns to management.
-
Assist with moving and handling pigs safely and humanely.
-
Ensure animals are cared for in accordance with farm procedures and animal welfare standards.
-
Monitor feed, water systems, and barn conditions.
-
May be required to assist with cattle care and related farm duties as needed.
Barn Cleaning & Maintenance:
-
Clean and maintain pig barns, pens, and work areas.
-
Remove waste and assist with sanitation and biosecurity procedures.
-
Support routine barn maintenance and repairs as required.
-
Ensure equipment, tools, and supplies are organized and maintained.
Field Work & Farm Operations:
-
Assist with general field work including planting, harvesting, and crop maintenance.
-
Operate tractors, farm equipment, and machinery safely and responsibly.
-
Support loading, unloading, and transporting feed, crops, equipment, and supplies.
-
Assist with fence repairs, property maintenance, and seasonal outdoor work.
-
Perform snow removal and maintain safe access to farm buildings and roadways during winter months.
General Farm Duties:

Assist with day-to-day farm operations and seasonal tasks as required.

Follow all workplace safety procedures and farm protocols.

Perform other labour and maintenance duties assigned by management.
Qualifications:
-
Experience working with pigs required
-
Experience working with cattle considered an asset.

Experience operating farm equipment required.
-
Valid driver’s license required.
-
Comfortable working in physically demanding and fast-paced environments.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-
Strong attention to cleanliness, animal care, and safety.
-
Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
-
Valid driver’s license considered an asset.
Pay Rate- $26.00 - $28.00 hourly
