About the role

Statement:

Seeking a full-time Dispatcher to work in a busy office environment, performing a variety of administrative tasks, scheduling and dispatching for the operation, and providing customer service. This role is also responsible for posting service alerts on social media and handling front desk clerical and reception duties. This role is a one-year contract.

Compensation:

  • Hourly Rate: $27/hour

Employment Type:

  • Full-time seasonal (September 2025 - September 2026)

Schedule:

  • Office hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00 pm (on-site)

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Business Communications experience is considered an asset.

  • Previous work-related experience with social media platforms is required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Previous administrative experience is required.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and Customer service skills.

  • Ability to multitask and manage a busy office environment.

  • Proficient in using radio communications.

  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills.

  • Strong skillset with Microsoft Office

Key Accountabilities:

Dispatching and Operations:

  • Dispatch drivers according to a pre-defined procedure.

  • Monitor radio communications and promote communication between drivers and the Transit Supervisor.

  • Handle HandyDART customer service scheduling.

Customer Service and Reporting:

  • Provide customer service to the public.

  • Investigate and report on service requests and feedback, including passenger complaints.

  • Post service alerts on social media platforms/applications.

Administrative Duties:

  • Process POs and invoices.

  • Perform other administrative tasks and data entry as required.

  • Handle front desk clerical and reception duties.
