About the role
Fortinet is seeking an accomplishedSenior Software Engineerto join ourFIO Development Team. In this role, you will design, implement, test, trace, and troubleshoot infrastructure and platform-level services — includingOpenStack services, Kubernetes services, and database services— while ensuring quality, performance, and scalability. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the evolution of our cloud and bare metal platforms.

What You’ll Do
-Design, develop, test, and troubleshootservices running on OpenStack or bare metal infrastructure.
- Optimizeautomation workflowsand enhance infrastructureperformance.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues bothindependentlyand incollaborationwith peers.
- Providetechnical leadershipand share expertise to elevate the entire FIO team.
- Partner with developers to identify and resolve defects, ensuringhigh-quality deliverables.
- Automate testing and system monitoring usingBashorPythonscripting.
What We’re Looking For
-10+ yearsof software development experience in aLinux environment.
- ExtensiveLinux networkingknowledge and hands-on experience.
- Strong understanding ofKubernetesand containerization technologies.
- Proficiency inGoorC/C++, with deep Linux system-level expertise.
- StrongBash/Pythonscripting skills.
- Proven track record ofdesigning, prototyping, and implementingmajor features in large-scalecloud services.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issueslogically and analytically, producing clear debugging reports.
- Excellentwritten and verbal communicationskills. -Bachelor’s degreein Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
Nice to Have
- Experience witheBPFdevelopment.
- Broader knowledge of commonly useddatabases,message queues, andmonitoring stacks.
The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $117,500 - $143,700 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
