ABOUT THE TEAM
Reporting to the Senior Director, the Senior Analyst/Associate, Fundamental Research Platform, will play an active role in conducting in-depth sector analysis and recommending publicly listed equities to include in the Active Equities Internally Managed Portfolios. This role will be a support role to the more senior FRP sector-based investors.
Please note that we have multiple openings across the following coverage areas: Consumer, Healthcare, Industrials and Materials, and Technology, Media and Telecommunications.
ABOUT YOUR ROLE
As a Senior Analyst/Associate, Fundamental Research Platform, you’ll work on:
Sector analysis & directed stock due diligence

Assist the team with the following responsibilities:
- Diligence thematic research and assist senior team members in regular sector reviews
- Conduct targeted due diligence on identified investment opportunities
- Establish a network of external resources (sell-side, consultants, experts)
- Develop relationships with company managements
- As directed by Senior Director, review analysis on selected stocks
- Build and maintain financial models and forecasts of the Sector Investible list
- Attend conferences and meet with companies to develop investment theses
- Report back on diligence items as needed; pitch bear bull theses to sector team
- Automate team processes and act as liaison with POI team

As required, provide analytical capabilities to Alpha Alts and Private Asset classes

Monitor the development of investee companies against their investment thesis

Make recommendations on stock actions as risk reward profile changes
This position requires frequent travel.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Graduate degree in a relevant field
- Pursuit of CFA designation is an asset
- Minimum two (2) years' experience with as investment banker, fund manager, or sell side analyst
- Sound judgment and decision making
- Ability to simultaneously follow stated processes and express independent thought
- Team player and strong coaching abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent organizational and priority management skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills
- Superior technology skills including excel, Bloomberg, and various AI products
- Ability to follow direction, understand the intent of the ask, anticipate future needs and work constructively to resolve issues
- Good communications skills in English and French (or willingness to learn) (regular interactions in English with investment partners based outside of Quebec Example: peers, bankers, brokerage firms, etc. and PSP employees in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
