Sessional Instructor, Environmental Law in the Energy Sector
About the role
The University of Calgary's Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Development (SEDV) is a multidisciplinary offering of the School of Public Policy in collaboration with the Schulich School of Engineering, the Haskayne School of Business, the Faculty of Law, and the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape. This interdisciplinary, comprehensive graduate program provides a holistic approach to energy and environmental management through a cross section of courses taught by faculty from across the university.
The SEDV Graduate Program invites applications for sessional instructor appointments to teach the following courses:
Summer 2026
SEDV 619 - Environmental Law in the Energy Sector
General legal concepts, administrative law, aspects and sources of environmental law, environmental decision making, international agreements and treaties, and law reform.
Position Requirements:
The SEDV Program is seeking a candidate with excellent teaching credentials and a demonstrated background in sustainable energy and environmental issues. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching, particularly at the post-graduate level, and ideally hold an earned doctoral degree in an area closely related to the particular course of interest. Previous involvement with the SEDV program is an asset.
