Position Summary

As a People and Culture Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in aligning HR strategies with RDP’s 2030 Strategic Plan. You will provide strategic consultation and operational support across your assigned portfolio, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include delivering training, coaching on policies, and consulting on complex matters.
You will serve as the first point of contact for HR policies, collective agreements, and employment legislation, facilitating early resolution of employee issues and conducting investigatory processes. You will guide strategic talent acquisition, and develop innovative recruitment and retention strategies. Additionally, you will lead succession planning and collaborate with EDI advisors to implement inclusive practices.
Your role will involve implementing performance management programs, coaching managers, and facilitating complex performance discussions. You will also identify and deliver development initiatives, create onboarding resources, and collaborate on training resources.
Furthermore, you will advise on workforce planning, organizational structures, and job classifications, and lead strategic P&C projects, ensuring effective project management and stakeholder engagement.
Position Responsibilities
**Strategic Business Partnering:**Provide strategic consultation and operational support across the assigned portfolio, aligning with RDP’s strategic objectives.
Employee and Labour Relations: Serve as first point of contact advisor on HR policies, collective agreements, and employment legislation.
Talent Acquisition & Management: Guide strategic talent acquisition, emphasizing policy compliance and best practices.
Performance Management: Implement and oversee strategic performance management programs, ensuring clear expectations, meaningful evaluations, and continuous improvement.
Claims & Disability Management: Collaborate strategically with Campus Health & Wellbeing, Payroll, and Benefits teams in supporting employee disability claims (short-term/long-term disability, WCB).
Learning & Development: Identify, design, and deliver development initiatives that enhance workforce skills and leadership capabilities.
Workforce Planning: Collaborate strategically and operationally with business leaders to develop workforce plans aligned with strategic objectives.
**Institutional & Project Support:**Lead and coordinate strategic P&C projects, ensuring effective project management, stakeholder engagement, and risk mitigation.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline such as Human Resources, Management, Business, or the Social Sciences

Certified Human Resource Practitioner (CPHR) designation an asset, or working towards completion

A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a human resource generalist in a complex work environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
-
Proven expertise across HR disciplines including diversity and inclusion, performance management, talent acquisition and retention, employee engagement, compensation and classification, talent management, and employee and labour relations.

Demonstrated knowledge of employment legislation, collective agreements, and best practices.

Successful experience consulting, influencing, and supporting multiple levels of leaders within an organization.

Demonstrated experience in organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, leadership development, organizational assessments, systemic people-related organizational interventions, team performances, organizational culture and change management.

Proven track record managing full-cycle recruitment and selection processes

Experience successfully leading HR-related projects from initial assessment through to implementation.

Demonstrated experience effectively managing conflicting priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Human Resources Management Graduate Certificate is an asset
