The Shipper-receiver is a key part of Multi-Power's current Inventory team and is responsible for shipping and receiving parts and goods (international & domestic) This position is for a candidate who is detail oriented and loves working in a busy environment and has previous experience with customs paperwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Acquiring quotes from freight companies for incoming/outgoing shipments
• Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping
• Prepare bills of lading, customs forms, invoices and other shipping documents manually or by computer
• Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or in a computer system, pack goods to be shipped and affix information and shipping instructions
• Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances
• Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods
• Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas
• Maintain internal, manual or computerized record-keeping systems
• Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods
• Completing receipt entry to required freight charges, exchange rates and brokerage charges
• Customs Rating & Classification: Expertise in classifying goods and determining correct tariff treatments.
• Trade Compliance: Deep knowledge of customs regulations

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years, experience in a related clerical occupation or as a warehouse worker may be required

• Good communication skills

• Good organizational skills

• High School graduate, Grade 12

• Current driver’s license

• Physically fit (routinely required to lift items up to 25 kilograms)
