Job Description
Under the supervision of the department manager, the programmer will have the task of creating laser and punch cutting files, following up on the production of the work list released on the floor, ensuring that the cutting operation runs smoothly, and providing assistance with any technical information, all within the agreed time and quality standards.
Role and responsibilities
- Program to create NC files for fabricators (punch press, laser and combination).
- Work closely with the engineering department to solve production start-up problems.
- Plan orders by work center, select orders according to production schedule, and release purchase orders.
- Ensure that the release of purchase orders is done within a reasonable time and that the workload is optimal on each production machine.
- Program according to quantities, materials and tools available.
- Solve production problems (material, quantity, tooling, programming), provide technical support for orders going into production, CTP (program changeover) of the production floor.
- Optimize material and machine utilization, create savings on lathes and dynamic batches for set-ups and material savings.
- Save programs in appropriate files and ensure that obsolete or previously used files are deleted.
- Responsible for inspecting files to ensure their suitability for manufacturing and resolving any other existing problems.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- DEP in CNC machining or experience in CNC programming.
- Knowledge of programming software (Pro-Engineer, FabriWIN, Autocad, Solid Works) or equivalent will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge and experience of tooling, set-up and operation of punching machines.
- Experience in metalworking and/or numerical control is an asset;
- Excellent skills in reading and interpreting drawings Studies
- Knowledge of the Microsoft suits
- Master the French language and the English (programming equipment from the United States).
