JOB OVERVIEW

As a Process Specialist, you will play a key role in advancing cereal processing performance at the Belleville plant. This role focuses on driving process optimization and cost improvement initiatives while providing technical support for innovation and production. You’ll serve as a subject matter expert in processing systems and lead efforts that strengthen root cause analysis, standardization, and continuous improvement across the site.

HERE’S WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Lead and execute long-term and complex process improvement and cost savings projects.
  • Support innovation as the site's processing subject matter expert.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting support for processing systems, products, and equipment.
  • Support and coach root cause analysis and escalation processes, ensuring best practices are standardized and sustained.
  • Develop and deliver training to Processing Team Members to build and maintain technical mastery.
  • Coordinate and support Kaizen activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the site Process Optimization strategy.
  • Support and advance Autonomous Maintenance (AM) efforts within the plant.
  • Maintain an active role in the WK Kellogg Integrated Work System (KIWS).
  • Directly manage a team of Technology Owners to ensure strong technical capability, training, and process documentation updates.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus a minimum of 3 years relevant experience or Technician diploma or Apprenticeship in a related field and 6 years relevant experience or equivalent or High School Diploma/GED plus a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in food manufacturing environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of processing systems, equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting process improvement and root cause analysis initiatives.
  • Ability to coach, train, and influence team members across functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude in food manufacturing environments.
  • Strong leadership, training, and documentation skills.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Experience with production reporting systems.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma experience.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Typically Monday through Friday, day shift.
  • Occasional work outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays may be required to support production, troubleshooting, and project needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Manufacturing environment requiring regular presence on the production floor.
  • Exposure to production equipment, noise, and varying environmental conditions typical of a food manufacturing facility.
  • Fast-paced setting with multiple priorities and cross-functional collaboration.

Salary Range: $70,880 - $88,600
