About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and enhancement of innovative mechanical products and systems. This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on experience in Creo/ProE, product design, testing, and manufacturing processes who enjoys working in a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities Develop, modify, and test mechanical designs as part of larger engineering projects. Create and maintain detailed engineering and test documentation. Execute validation and performance tests and document results. Analyze test outcomes, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions. Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex mechanical design issues. Design and improve components and assemblies for manufacturability, quality, and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, manufacturing partners, and stakeholders. Contribute innovative ideas to improve product performance, engineering processes, and team productivity. Work independently on routine assignments while receiving guidance on new or complex projects.

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. 2+ years of mechanical product design experience. Strong experience with Creo/ProE for mechanical design and drafting. Experience supporting product testing, documentation, and troubleshooting activities. Experience designing and developing: CNC machined components, Injection molded plastic parts, Die-cast components , Sheet metal assemblies Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work onsite in Mississauga to support engineering design and testing activities.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with SolidWorks and Windchill PLM. Experience working with opto-mechanical or electro-mechanical products and vision systems. Hands-on experience with CNC machining and 3D printing. Strong understanding of GD&T, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and manufacturing processes. Experience with DFA/DFM methodologies supporting volume production. Knowledge of precision opto-mechanical assembly design and manufacturing. Experience collaborating with ODM/JDM manufacturing partners.
