We are seeking a Bilingual Nurse Case Manager who is passionate about helping people navigate healthcare and supporting employers, insurers, and partners with effective group benefit solutions. In this role, you will make a real difference by guiding individuals through their health journey.

About the Role

As a Bilingual Nurse Case Manager, you will manage Short-Term Disability (STD) cases, accommodation cases, and complex cases. Your work will ensure employees receive the right care and support while helping employers achieve positive outcomes. You will review medical information, coordinate care, and make sure treatment plans are medically appropriate, cost-effective, and aligned with client policies, all while supporting successful return-to-work outcomes.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 7.5-hour shifts

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure treatment plans match employees’ medical needs
  • Act as the point of contact between employees and employers during absences
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case notes and documentation in OHGMed
  • Review medical records to ensure treatments are medically supported and cost-effective
  • Assess treatment duration based on published standards and guidance from the Medical Director
  • Recommend additional assessments if needed, such as Ergonomic, Independent Medical Evaluations, or Fitness to Work Evaluations
  • Perform all work in compliance with PIPEDA and HIPAA

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in Ontario or Quebec
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a disability management environment
  • Experience in claims adjudication
  • Strong background in psychiatric disability management
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Excellent computer, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Professionalism and confidence in a fast-paced work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Workers’ Compensation (WSIB/WCB)
  • Strong decision-making, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Team player with initiative and sound judgment
  • Experience preparing and facilitating graduated return-to-work programs
  • Knowledge of WSIA and other relevant provincial legislation
