Position: Line Cook - Garde Manger
Reports to: Executive Chef
Location of Work: Elisa, Vancouver BC

Summary:
The Garde Manger Line Cook is responsible for the preparation and presentation of cold dishes including salads, appetizers, cold entrees, dressings, and charcuterie. This position plays a key role in maintaining food quality and consistency, ensuring all items are prepared to exacting standards in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, assemble, and plate cold menu items including salads, pâtés, terrines, canapés, dressings, cold soups, and desserts
- Measure and prepare ingredients, set up workstations so food can be prepared according to recipes
- Maintain food safety and hygiene
- Focus on quality, food preparation standards, and consistency in a premium kitchen environment
- Meet production schedules and timelines
- Communicate and coordinate with the team, including front-of-house
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of culinary experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a garde manger or premium cold kitchen role
- Enrollment in or completion of a culinary program is preferred
- Food Safe Certification
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, withstand heat, and deal with the pressures of preparing food in a fast-paced environment
- Dedicated team player who naturally builds camaraderie
- Extremely organized; keeping to deadlines and working with precision in a fast-paced environment
- Responsible, motivated, and energetic self-starter
- Excellent English language communication skills
