##Job Overview

Tough conditions. Real impact.This is a boots on the ground, hands on the iron, and problem‑solving in the mines type of role. We’re looking for aHeavy Equipment Technicianto join the Komatsu Underground team in Timmins. You’ll be the one keeping our underground mining equipment running strong, traveling to sites, tackling breakdowns, and making sure uptime and safety are never compromised. If you thrive on variety, field work, and the satisfaction of fixing what others can’t, this is your role. **Reports to:**General Supervisor

**Shift:**5x2- Monday-Friday- with some mine rotations as needed

**Safety Sensitive:**Yes- drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required

**Travel:**up to 40-60% travel to mine sites in the region and within Canada

**Relocation:**This position does not offer relocation

##Key Job Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and overhaul underground mining equipment (diesel, hydraulics, powertrain, electrical/control systems)
  • Respond to breakdowns and field service calls across the Timmins region
  • Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and commissioning of new equipment
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Keep accurate service records and communicate updates to supervisors and site contacts
  • Work closely with product support, engineering, and fellow technicians to solve problems and improve reliability
  • Uphold strict safety and environmental standards in demanding underground conditions

##Qualifications/Requirements

  • Heavy Equipment Technician certification (Red Seal preferred)
  • 3–5+ years of heavy equipment repair experience (mining or heavy construction preferred)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
  • Willingness to travel and work in underground mine environments
  • Able to access any mine site without restriction and possess a valid Ontario driver’s licence
  • Ability to work independently, handle physically demanding tasks, and adapt to site rotations
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction
